Hey CityLifers, with the NBA finals over with and the Lakers taking home the championship, I'm sure most of us are thinking what are we going to do now? Well maybe I'm the only thinking that but still, I wanted to find out a few fun activities I can get involved within my city of Long Beach. How about Hatha Yoga, Karate, Mexican Folk Dance, or Drawing in Nature? There's a lot of cool options and I'm sure there's one for you in here somewhere.

One thing I've always been wanting to do is play in a basketball league and train in the art of fencing! That's a sport that I think I can do some serious damage in. Imagine me playing Peter Pan during a fencing match, that would be tight.

Anyways, what are YOU going to do for summer? It's time to get in shape (especially for me) and I have just the thing for everyone to have a look at. Here is a huge directory of more than 20 things you and your family can do in Long Beach.

Try something different and let me know your top three classes you're interested in by posting in the comments section below!

Now for the list of programs, all you have to do is click here: Long Beach Park & Recreation Classes.

My top 3:
Fencing
Tennis
Beginning Wind Surfing

My parents own Nino's. I grew up there. :)

Yes it is, it made me sad last time I was there when I saw at the entrance the big aquarium & next to it discounts for seafood restaurant, is like giving out KFC coupons at a farm =(

Are you part of the Nino's staff? =)

I know! That is kind of funny isn't it. I agree. I am close to being a vegetarian by the way, my preference... I do need protein though for my blood type (yes I read this book too). We have the BEST vegetarian offerings at Nino's in LB. Eggplant Parmesan, homemade pastas, BEST pizza (dough made from scratch), incredible marinated vegetable salads, etc. I should put together a vegetarian food and wine pairing for a Parks and Rec event! :)

So you eat the seafood & then you go visit the rest of their family at the aquarium? damn! lol

I'm vegetarian so I guess I will have to try something else at Nino's when I finally get to try this place out =)

BTW - When you eat at Nino's a sustainable seafood item get a free ticket to the aquarium for each item ordered! Appetizers to lunch to dinner. :) Delicious calamari with homemade dipping sauces, linguine clam sauce, fresh halibut, ... the list goes on. . . And then do something fun via parks and rec afterward.

oh nice!

did you get the coupon in the mail for the Aquarium? We got one yesterday for 50%off.
I think is nice for them to do that for LB residents.

Got a bike, taking a week to just be with the family, took the kids to the Library, and next it's the aquarium, and the beach...

Thanks! Just read Shanghai Girls, I loved it - have you read it?
I'm starting to read People of the Lie today...

There's plenty of time still left in summer. :) I have a few books that I am reading at once... that's an interesting approach and it seems to be working so far. Have a super day!
