LONG BEACH – There is one more chance for Long Beach teens and young adults ages 14-25 to try out for the new community-based urban show choir – Urban Rhythm. Final auditions will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 5:30pm at Immanuel Center, 3215 East 3rd Street, Long Beach, CA 90814.
The success of FOX’s hit television show GLEE, which recently concluded its second season, has produced wide popularity among not only teens and tweens but also adults of all ages. Most show choirs are school-based and more common in the mid-west and east coast. Long Beach will have a new community-based show choir to entertain the masses but also to help raise an appreciation for the arts.
Applicants will need to fill out an audition application located at www.GoCatalyst.org.
“This is going to be a great outlet for young people to express themselves in a fun and unique way while learning good vocal technique and showmanship,” says choir director Earl Harville. Catalyst Community and Harville Vocal Studio have partnered together for this new project.
