More and more cuts are to come. Chris Eftychiou told us that $17 million dollars of cuts are coming. Read about it here: $17 mil in cuts coming to LBUSD. I know some cool teachers like Cindy, and students can't afford to lose quality teachers.

Honestly, these cuts in education are pissing me off! Where's the City Council and our Mayor in all of this??? Why the hell do they not give a crap?! How come we can talk about expanding sidewalks and street furniture, but we can't talk about keeping teachers on the job and class sizes to a manageable size???!!! We need rallies at City Hall, not just at Wilson! It may not be City Halls fault, but they're elected to speak up for us, not stay silent. It's called a representative democracy for a reason! R-E-P-R-E-S-E-N-T OR QUIT!

Protests at a number of campuses, including at Long Beach City College, are planned for March 4. We, as educators, are encouraging all students, faculty, parents, and community leaders to join us in making our concerns known. The bottom line to cutting funding for education is the reduction of opportunities for students by uncompromising and shortsighted legislators and our governor. We MUST unite in our rally efforts to bring attention to this crisis situation. Let's make our voices heard!
