First I want to thank Annalisa for her earlier post that made me aware of this worthy cause.

I'm number 9 out of 10 kids, so getting an Easter basket wasn't exactly a top priority for my parents. Thank goodness for church activities back in those days! Anyways, I had fun making this basket and just wanted to encourage whoever reads this post to join the cause.

I'm in no means a "baller"... actually I'm a bargain shopper always looking for the best deal. I look for quality, but I don't pay full price. I believe that you can make a better Easter basket than buying a pre-made one. The average price of a kids Easter basket ranges from $15 to $20 and even more than that...As I was scoping a pre-made I realized it was alot of that shredded grass stuff, some candy, and no name toys that would break easily.

Today I made my way over to the 99 cent store, where I picked up everything you see. I chose a Princess theme for a 3 to 8 year old. I opted out of buying the traditional multi colored wicker basket and went for a Disney Princess beach pail w/shovel as my basket/usable toy. Inside the pail is a coloring kit with markers, a jump rope, a streamer dance wand all of it is Disney Princess. There's lots of candy all around, a cute jumbo sized egg filled with candy, but most importantly there is the super cool Tiara, which lights up!!!

I also have cellophane which I haven't put on yet, but it has a cute Easter egg pattern going on and I have a big bow for on top. My total spending for the day was $9.79. But my experience shopping and putting it together...Priceless!

That is adorable and whoever gets it will feel like a princess for a day. I agree that the pre-made baskets are mostly grass and cheap toys and you did a spectacular job!I'm touched. Thanks for posting this!
