New sports column I recently started writing
So a few weeks ago I hooked up with a group of LA-based sportswriters interested in starting a new site, and I'm always looking for new opportunities - plus I hadn't written about basketball in like forevers - so I jumped on board. It's called Sports Alert, and the main function is to send live sports scores to your phone, but they've also started publishing blogs and columns. My first went up today.
It's about a Team USA basketball scrimmage I saw in Vegas a few weeks ago, where NBA stars like OJ Mayo, Josh Smith and Andre Igoudala put on a real show. But my point in the article is that two guys really stood out as making their case to be on the 2012 Olympics team: Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose, who I think are two of the most exciting players to come up in the last ten years.

Read your article. Some good stuff there. D Rose is real. The way he performed in the post against Boston was amazing. One of the great playoff series I've seen in a long time. KD I think needs to bulk up. He's good no doubt but when your playing against guys bigger and stronger than you, you need to be able to hold your ground.
