This Saturday will mark the 2nd annual Latin American Parade & Festival in Long Beach, thanks to the efforts of local council member Robert Garcia and the DLBA. They have really stepped it up this year boasting two stages of music at the end of the parade route in the East Village Arts District, along with tons more vendors, sponsors, and supporters. The parade kicks off at 1pm on Pine ave then heads down Broadway until it hits Linden and its party time! The entertainment line up has significantly improved, and with headliners like El Presidente this free all-ages show should be a great one to catch.

Last year I was a little disappointed with the promotion and for a festival of this size. Based on the rigorous promotion and beefed up parade and festival THIS year I think the 2nd Annual Latin American Festival is going to be a hit! As long as there are homemade tamales for my belly and good LOCAL music on stage, what better way to spend a Saturday then immersed in great local culture.
