Long Beach artist Timothy Bulone’s work will hang at the El Dorado Nature Center here beginning Saturday, July 6. Bulone creates each of his images by starting with a digital photograph, then using a variety of computer programs to render them into art that is “more representational, more evocative, and more revelatory” than the original photo, he says. "Digital art sounds much too cold to me. I think of it as photographic art and of myself as an artist working in photography. I am so thankful…See More

It's seems like times are definitely changing. Not sure if it's for the good or bad or whatever. But definitely, the closing of the world famous V.I.P. record store is in my opinion, another defeat in Long Beach's small business scene. For those who don't know (which I hope aren't many of you CIty Lifers), V.I.P. is home to many old school hip hop videos that featured Warren G, Snoop, Nate Dogg, and more. Remember this video? To be…See More

Keep checking for constant updates all weekend long! 1st Annual Long Beach Comic Con is here! Lets hear from YOU fellow NERDS!
Look for us to start around 3pm tomorrow as Councilman Robert Garcia will be lucky enough (He's a confirmed Comic Book Nerd) to get to introduce Stan "TheMan" Lee!
Remember we want to hear from you as we post, so don't be shy... and remember: You saw it HERE FIRST!
Day One!
Getting ready for Stan Lee and getting the crowd worked up!
Our Favorite Pics from Day one with a slide show of even more! All pics are by our very own Juls and our coverage of the Comic Con is being supported by our friends at Mondo Celluloid!
We're now adding our video from yesterday, brought to you by Jon Isaacs!
The man of the hour was definitely Stan Lee! It's so cool to see his sincere humbleness and amazing sense of humor. LA County declared today, Oct. 2, as STANN LEE DAY! Congratulations Mr. Lee!
Councilman Garcia was lucky enough to honor one of his personal heros! We think it's cool that he's a Comic Book Geek!
Long Beach's official super hero, The Bixby Ranger, looks to be getting into a bit more trouble then he can handle...
I was excited to talk with the creator of the Star Wars Uncut project! Video to come on that later, but for now check out starwarsuncut.com and there's also a bit of a trailer for it below.
Day two was just about as epic as they come. A Robot Chicken Wars panel that everyone should have seen, so many great booths, an awesome Nintendo area, live wrestling, and costumes, costumes, costumes!
First - A quick intro video featuring TheMan filmed and edited by our very own Jon!:
After that panel we made our way out to the convention floor and the team got to have some fun!
Catch these interviews first...
Of course no Comic Con would be complete without the costumes and celebs!
The only reason we even have Comic Cons, are because of people like this, THE ARTISTS!
Here's also a few other shots from the day, hope you enjoy! Did you go to Comic Con too???
Our Sunday Coverage will be light, but we'll bring you some. Also, we're still working on editing todays video footage, so check back for that. TheMan got lots of interviews!
Day Three!
WHEW! Today was an even more nerd out day then the first two. It was nice because we really got to just slow down take our time and ENJOY. Here are a few pics. We'll also be opening up a discussion in the Anime/Magna Group section for people who went to talk about it, and if you picked up anything we'd really like to see pics!
