5 Star Award & Golden Bacchus Presented To Long Beach’s Top Restaurant

L’Opera Ristorante, the Italian dining establishment credited with revitalizing Pine Avenue, has been presented with the highly coveted 5 Star Award from the Southern California Restaurant Writers at an awards ceremony held recently at The Madison. Considered the “Oscars for restaurants,” the awards committee also presented L’Opera with the Golden Bacchus Award for its stellar wine list. Alegria, the Spanish tapas house recently featured on FOX television, received the 4 Star Award. Restaurateurs Terry Antonelli and Enzo DeMuro, who own and operate both L’Opera and Alegria, accepted the honors.
“On behalf of the entire staffs of L’Opera and Alegria, we accept these awards with gratitude and humility,” said DeMuro.
Added Antonelli, “We have worked hard, especially in the past years as we have all faced challenging times, to earn the business of the dining public. We are grateful to have earned these awards and will continue to work hard to please our guests.”
The critically acclaimed L’Opera features a menu of northern Italian cuisine. Large artworks by such renowned locals as Aldo Luongo adorn the walls and floor-to-ceiling windows allow guests to watch the hustle and bustle of the city and the Blue Line. Alegria’s menu includes entrees representing all parts of Latin America including Mexican chicken mole, traditional Spanish paella Valenciana, Brazilian sweet rotisserie chicken and a Cuban pork dish. The 170-seat establishment draws an international crowd eager to witness its festive live entertainment. Visit www.lopera.com or 562-491-0066 andwww.alegriacocina.com or 562-436-3388.
