Today we learned that a publication called “CityLifeLB” will be distributed beginning September/October. We wanted to make sure and put the word out that this publication is in no way, shape, or form affiliated with 562citylife.com. Additionally, we feel that given the similarity in content focus, publication title, color scheme, and overall concept that this is a direct rip off of the hard work and sweat that members of the citylife family have put into this project for the past three years.

On a personal note, as you all know I am, when I heard of this I was floored. And completely lost my appetite at dinner. Again if you know me, I love food and losing my appetite is not easily achieved. Even now, all I can think of is the time and energy we have put into our love for Long Beach. That is how 562citylife.com began. I fell in love with a city...and the people here. You have all made this site, this community awesome. It is difficult to see someone rip off our hard work, our ideas, our love and PERSONAL connection with Long Beach. This publication looks like it will be the typical ad after ad...one story about or involving Long Beach...and the rest, well, filler. And there it is. The fact that our site is the original...the community based forum that was created because we love Long Beach. Am I upset? Damn straight but that just makes it all the more reason to get back to grabbing my camera, writing the blogs, and connecting with all of you...the reason I fell in love with this awesome city, Long Beach.

Thank you for reading. I hope to hear from all of you.

As always,
~your Juls~

Alright citylifers this is EVEN more of a reason to sharpen your pencils (digital version:replace your mouse batteries), take out a piece of paper (digital version:create a new document) and get cranking on those t-shirt designs - lets UNITE as a whole, express the love for the city, show the support for the 562citylife.com community, and let us show people that when a community with a common goal unites, a difference can be made. Let's rattle the streets, spread the buzz and let it be known that there's non like 562citylife.com.

Take out your cell phones, open up a new internet window, get on your blogs, tweet your friends, create posts on FB, share on myspace (is that still around? lol) record a youtube video and unite in one voice to declare that WE ARE THE PEOPLE OF 562CITYLIFE.COM!

And to the staff behind 562citylife.com please know that Red Eye Media continues to stand side by side with you guys! ::You have our FULL support::

as always people are imitators of someone ideas so lets say that original people is the ones are making this waves in 562 city life because we are the ones we are living in the city and making happening in this awesome city that all try to imitate but our people is genuine and at the end of the day is all what matters, so lets the paper go free but after all is not green so it will cost some green to survive we shall see how far they will go. is all I have to say to end this bad taste on my mouth, I need to be hungry again and find comfort in our city and our people!

It's probably a flash in the pan anyway. Publications come and go, but like Jules said, 562Citylife has been here for 3 years. I can't believe that this mag was put out after a meeting with Matt to discuss shared concept. How unprofessional on that person's part. They are only making themselves look bad. Just keep going strong citylifers!

Man, insane is all I can say. This is 'weak sauce', as Hampton aka THE MAN would say. Its sad that people would stoop so low and jack someone else's idea. Come up with your s***!

Just unbelievable all around. Must remain positive and know that you're dealing with an inferior publication, and an inconsiderate organization. Karma will serve as justice.

That well and truly sucks! I'm not one for a print mag anyway, so to them I say, "Pffft!"
