Living in Long Beach and being a bigot must pretty dam hard. Here, we are surrounded by so many from different walks of life, it's what makes us great. We here at 562CityLife argue, that this extends also beyond mere racial or color lines, but also to gender and/or sexual orientations.

Prop 8 was arguably the most controversial and divisive item on the CA State ballot last election cycle, and the battle over the equality rights of the LGBT community rages on in the courts and political chambers. The man once appointed by the right wing political strong arm Newt Gingrich, with going after President Clinton over alleged purgery in his Monica Lewinsky hearings, is now also charged with invalidating same sex marriages in CA. Ken Starr is now working through the court system to further take away basic civil liberties from fellow citizens of the USA.

The California Courage Campaign is circulating an on-line petition to be submitted to the CA Supreme Court in order to reject the case of Ken Starr and the Prop 8 Legal Defense Fund.
