Long Beach Voices was on the scene at the 2011 International City Bank Marathon. In this 1st part of the Marathon coverage, we are honored to speak to Mayor of Long Beach, Bob Foster. We also had the privilege to speak to both CEO of International City Bank - Jane Netherton & LA County Supervisor - Don Knabe. 

In this show, we walk alongside Yolanda Holder. Not only has she come to be known as the "Walking Diva", she also holds the WORLD RECORD for most Marathons run in a given calendar year! We had the pleasure of speaking to her while she participated in our Long Beach Marathon. It was a very inspirational interview. At age 50, Yolanda walked 65 Marathons as a way of doing "something different" as she put it. WOW, that's something DIFFERENT!

The Long Beach Marathon isn't the same without it accompanied RUN FORREST RUN 5k. We were at the finish lines to capture both the male & female winners of the 5K. We interviewed Christopher Dewitt & Bethany Nickless, male & female winners respectively. See what they had to say about their wins, learn a little about who they are & what brought them to Long Beach. And, 5k isn't complete with out FORREST GUMP & his restaurant's mascot, SHRIMP LOUIE. 

We also encountered Lenarce Webb, Head Coach of the Southbay Track Club. Watch as he tells us about what it takes for an athlete to achieve something like participating & completing a marathon.
