January 30th kicked off A Season for Nonviolence. This is a national 64 day educational, media, and grassroots campaign inspired by the 50th and 30th memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr.

The season, which runs from January 30th to April 4th, is dedicated to demonstrating how non-violence can powerfully heal, transform and empower lives and communities. The web site for A Season of Nonviolence has some GREAT resources for available to help commit your self to learning how to live a a lifestyle of nonviolence. After reading through the list of 64 Ways in 64 Days you will have plenty to reflect upon. The principles, which were adopted by the Denver Area Task Force for: A Season of NonViolence, is an extensive list of thought provoking commitments that asks each of us to look within ourselves and first focus on how we can make the world a better place through our thoughts and actions. After all the best form of leadership is by being that which you want to see in others, or to lead by example!

Please be sure to stop the site for more information, sign the pledge, and find out what events the city of Long Beach has planned for this important initiative. 562CityLife would like to thank member Human Dignity Officer for sharing this information with us and for working to better enlighten the residents of Long Beach!
