LBPP brings you another great night of local indie rock bands from Long Beach and LA this Friday night, October 8th at Clancy's Irish Pub. We recently held our 5th annual Talk Like a Pirate Day Party at Clancy's and we all had a blast. The staff, bands, and people that came out made it one hell of a good show so if you missed it check out the PICS section!Added by LBPP.net on October 8, 2010 at 12:04pm — No Comments

Random is good sometimes, but then other times it gets you in a little trouble girl... THIS time though random was good as LBPP randomly ended up at the wrap up video shoot of local band Free Moral Agents new single called "Little Trouble Girl", which is an awesome Sonic Youth cover from the Washing Machine album. For those that don't know Free Moral Agents is the brainchild of Ikey Owens from Mars Volta, until he… Continue

Its Vaudeville time! If you have no idea what that means you have even more reason to check out this awesome show. This Thursday, September 23rd, Long Beach locals Allyssandra & The Daymakers release a brand new album and in celebration they have put together a spectacular Vaudeville inspired show at the Long Beach Art Theater. The show will include… Continue

Recently LBPP had the chance to check out one of the best hip hop acts in Long Beach and what better place then the revived Basement Lounge. I used to come to the Basement when they first opened a few years back, when it was aimed at being a swanky lounge featuring mostly DJ's, but now with new owners, management, upgraded sound system, and awesome promoters like… Continue

If you love live music then you have been to Di Piazza's in Long Beach at least once. It's a small mom and pop venue run by the man himself Mark Di Piazza, who has been supporting music in Long Beach for as long as I can remember. The pizza is always good and hot and the PBR on tap is always cold and cheap! Turns out that is just how the band… Continue

Generations of women escorted by husbands, boyfriends and grandfathers showed up to experience the recent Beach Boys concert held at the Queen Mary Event Park. Hair blowing in the ocean breeze, some early arrivals trickled in toward assigned seating while others headed for the grass with blankets it tow. While waiting for the show to begin, there was the consistent hum of conversation, laughter and expectation.Added by LBPP.net on September 11, 2010 at 2:46pm — No Comments
It's been a long while since local electronic /hip hop group Audible Mainframe has rocked in their current hometown of Long Beach, but they are back in action TONIGHT, September 9th for BIG AUDIO held at The Basement Lounge in the LBC. Look for some more familiar local talent as emcees…

It's been a great summer for live music and LBPP has had the chance to check out some of the best Long Beach and SoCal had to offer. From a reunited Sublime to Flugtag flying machines, it's been a wild summer, but the spotlight belongs to the SAM concert series and all its FREE music goodness offered up throughout the summer. A big thanks to Justin, Rand, Bobby, all the bands, and the rest of the SAM crew for making it happen! LBPP had a great time…

Late again and this time it cost me! As we walked down towards Gladstones I realized how incredibly packed this small harbor was. The lighthouse park where I had originally intended to set up was so thick with people you couldn't even tell they were standing on grass! Long Beach set a record for the RedBull Flugtag in attendance, with over 105,000, but there were no flight records set as not ONE team achieved successful flight. It was funny as hell though…

The last few weekends have been a live music frenzy in Long Beach with SO much going on. I had a chance to check out a very important show we had mentioned on the site a few weeks back. The tribute show for Peter Sirimarco was an all day venture held at Di Piazza's with some big name hip hop acts including Ugly Duckling, Philieano, Loony Bin, and Pete's band Prominent Sons to name a few. Check out the video from the show and show your support for local… Continue

Long Beach has a pretty diverse Music Scene, from the followers of Sublime's "Dope and Partying" Reggae/Ska/Hip Hop melange, Rockabilly, Roots Reggae, Indie Rock, and the Street Stories of Snoop Dogg and The Dogg Pound. "Conscious" Hip Hop i.e. 'Say No To Dope', 'Watch Out For The Government', also has a place in the LBC. With a…
