Our friends over at LBPost.com are doing a cool segment on "Who Are The 10 Most Powerful People in Long Beach?" If you read further into the comments, you'll see a few of names pop up multiple times; Robert Garcia, Just Rudd, Jim McDonnell, Bob Shannon, and Mike Murchison just to name a few.Added by The Man on October 27, 2010 at 11:31am — 24 Comments
Last night's City Council meeting voted on a city-wide ban on smoking in public parks. If you're caught smoking anything at a park in Long Beach, you'll be hit with a $100 the first time, $200 the next time and $500 for each violation after the first two. I don't smoke, so it doesn't really change anything for me, but for those of you who do, how do you feel about this?Added by The Man on October 20, 2010 at 12:05pm — 10 Comments
Recently, I went to The Factory to check out my long-time homies, Mulatto and some other cats. This was probably one of the best jam sessions I've been to in Long Beach. I almost died on my way there. (You'll see in the video) The Factory was packed, and with a couple of good IPA's I was set for some good music.Added by The Man on October 19, 2010 at 8:28am — 11 Comments
The art scene in Long Beach has really became what Twitter would call, a "trending topic." The abundance of art in this city continues to contribute culture to our community. With that said, I feel that there is one category of art that I feel is lacking representation and that is the Black art scene.Added by The Man on October 7, 2010 at 7:57am — 5 Comments
