In this hour-long documentary film a young multi-racial Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) woman, filmmaker Christen Hepuakoa Marquez, sets out to discover the meaning of her incredibly lengthy Hawaiian name from her estranged mother whose diagnosis as schizophrenic in the 80′s caused their family separation. Long Beach comes thru again! SENIOR PHOTO SHOOT

As I have stated before Long Beach will become my own studio for photo shoots.

Lately I have been really adamant about using Long Beach to find my own "sweet" spots for photo shoots. After this past weekend... LB came thru for me again...

I shot at the Japanese Tea Garden located at Cal State Long Beach. This place is a hidden treasure for LB. A lot of engagement photos are taken here but, I thought to myself that the natural scenery is made for anything!

life through the lens of my iphone

basically its an ongoing journal of random things i see around town and while traveling. the iphone lens has a certain look to it that reminds me of the old lomographs, blackbird diana type cameras from back in the day.

the point is that you dont need a top of the line camera to emit emotion. just a top of the line smartphone lol!

Random Thoughts

We all will come to a point in our lives where you will wake up one day and your priorities will change. The ideals you held close to your heart will suddenly be reviewed. Is this a waste of time? IS what I… Continue

The State of Long Beach Media

The Long Beach Media Scene is actually kind of packed. We have the Press Telegram of course, and let's see; LBReport, LBPost, Everything Long Beach, The Gazette, a long list of citizen reporting in the form of a ton of blogs, and I'm sure another half a dozen that I'm leaving off. So with the passing of The District Weekly, which love it or leave it creates a large whole in the LB Media Scene, I wanted to try to get a gauge of what you all see as missing... Do you think there's too… Continue

St. Patrick's Day Haps at the Irish Pubs around town...

For more local bar and restaurant reviews, go to LBFoodReview.com!

It wouldn’t be St. Patrick’s Day without a trek to at least one Irish bar for a Guinness (yum), a green beer (green going in, green going out), some corned beef and cabbage (or perhaps a Banger or three), or just a glimpse of some good old fashioned Irish revelry (and maybe a good hooligan fight). LB Food Review has the scoop on a few Irish pubs… Continue
