With Obama taking office as the 44th President, Wizard magazine commissioned Alex Ross to paint the March issue commemorating the historic occasion. The cover shows our new President ripping his shirt open (a la Superman) to reveal the letter "O". Obama has stated that he is a comic book head and that Spiderman is one of his favorites.…

Click the graphic above for the latest market info. Wow! Busy week so I am a little late with the Cliff May Ranchos market update. And it appears that some other Realtors were busy putting 3025 Roxanne, Long Beach into escrow. As you may remember, that home is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in pretty original condition. The landscaping was…

The
Huffington Post is reporting on an email sent by Los Alamitos Mayor Dean Grose depicting a large Watermelon in front of the White House and a line about no easter egg hunts this year...

When will people get it? Times have changed, right, do these jokes have any place in todays society? Our country just overwhelmingly elected and incredibly…

Driving by the old site of Brooks College last week, it was a trip to see the front building being completely torn down. I spent a good ten years kicking around this place as as student, teacher, and staff; so this scene made me stop and wonder... how long until I'm the old guy down at the bar talking about "I remember when"???…

"Turn left....now make a right...another left...wait...is this right? It SHOULD be around here somewhere!" Your car slows, accelerates, slows, accelerates...STOP!
Ahhh, looking for an apartment in Long Beach. The emotions that can arise from one little trip. Stress, anger, frustration, dismay, elation, relief, and happiness. It can give you a headache and then make you smile when you have found that perfect pad. The one place you can…

Today i began the day tossing and turning in bed, at least 3 times i woke up in the early hours of the day and restlessly tried to calm myself to sleep. I put off writing an essay draft the night before so i could get a good nights sleep and instead i only spent half the night thinking about it. I did feel well rested when i finally woke up at 6:15, i planned breakfast with my sweetheart Ana and that was sure to start the day off right. After breakfast my plan was to dedicate two hours to…

So here is the story, I'm currently living in Champaign-Urbana Illinois. I've been here about 16 years or so, and the city isn't bad. It has a lot to offer: culture, a nice downtown area, lots of parks, etc. It also offers ridiculous windchills, snow and ice in the winter. Which I'm kinda over.
Actually, I hate the winters here.
Add in that most of my professional oppertunities have dried up here, and most of my friends have moved on to other cities...and you can see why I…

562Citylife member Logan and Open Books put together an incredible screening last Friday! At midnight all seven members of Spindrift played live with Shea from Open books at the controls of the audio, which was stereophonic indeed! The band played songs from the soundtrack of
The Legend of God's Gun. Their song "Indian Run" will also be on the…

This weekend is the 28th annual Bob Marley festival celebrating the life, music, and influence of the reggae star. Marley's music has stood the sands of times and to this day remains as relevant in the world as it did during his life. His music speaks of truth... the suffering of the people and to uplift the masses.
Scheduled to perform this weekend are some of reggae's most famous acts: Buju Banton, Mad Professor, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Julian Marley, Stephen Marley, and Ky-mani…
