Local Artist’s Work at El Dorado Nature Center at El Dorado Nature Center Museum

July 6, 2013 to July 31, 2013
Long Beach artist Timothy Bulone’s work will hang at the El Dorado Nature Center here beginning Saturday, July 6. I think of it as photographic art and of myself as an artist working in photography. I am so thankful…See More

Legendary V.I.P. World Famous Records Closes Shop

It's seems like times are definitely changing. Not sure if it's for the good or bad or whatever. But definitely, the closing of the world famous V.I.P. record store is in my opinion, another defeat in Long Beach's small business scene. For those who don't know (which I hope aren't many of you CIty Lifers), V.I.P. is home to many old school hip hop videos that featured Warren G, Snoop, Nate Dogg, and more. Remember this video?     To be…See More

Did The City of Long Beach Do Enough in 2010?

What's up City Lifers? Recently, the City Manager released the accomplishments of 2010. There are some pretty cool things that were done by the City. I would say the two that stand out most to me are the 1.6 items checked out of City libraries and 164,000 calls for service responded to by the Police Department.…

Say Hello to USC Alumni Club of Long Beach!

Nevermore should a Long Beach resident USC alumni have to find an alumni club far, far away! USC Alumni Club of Long Beach has been resurrected in 2010 by club president Erika Crespo and vice president Peter Maes.  We're a young club in terms of founding date and age group at this point.  Many alumni in Long Beach have joined other nearby clubs while USC LBC was absent, but we're hoping to gather them all back--and then some!--to support our awesome hometown.

We have been…
