Sunday Afternoon at The Auld Dubliner

Looking for something different to do on a Sunday afternoon? The Auld Dubliner is the perfect place to grab a plate of fish and chips, a pint of Guinness and listen to fantastic live music. If you haven't been there before, the Auld Dubliner is located in the front of the Pike. It's a great place to go to after a movie at the Cinemark, or book browsing at Borders.

I've been to the Auld Dubliner many times, but I must say, Sunday afternoon is the… Continue

MLK Festival - A Dream Fulfilled?

This was actually our first year making it out the festival celebrating the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, one of of my early childhood heros by the way, and one question has defiantly been on my mind since yesterday? There is no doubt that we are at a historic moment in the history of this nation. We are at long last putting an African American in the White House, well half african american and half caucasian, but is that it? Is the… Continue

3719 1st Street, Lon Beach

The dingbat apartment building are some of Southern California's greatest architectural gems. A Fear of Whales

Personally I think whale watching is scary. You never know when one of those big suckers are going to swim underneath your boat and knock it over. Seriously, I have that fear. But many flock to watch our whales here in Long Beach in the summer. What is crazy is that they are still here and we're in January! (Global warming???) Typically they should have moved on to Baja at the end of the summer. But our little or should I… Continue
