- I'm a young man, spending most of my time in Long Beach, although i stay in Compton (310). Most of my friends stay in the 562, so i feel adopted by this city... i Like it a lot... interested in seeing more of it. I attend LBCC and write for the Viking Newspaper. I drive through these streets more than my own... probably not a good thing, but it is for sure that i always enjoy my destination.

What are your thoughts on court ordered Public Shaming as an alternative to incarceration?

Many courthouse judges in the states are beginning to offer delinquents an alternative to incarceration for misdemeanor crimes. For crimes like petty theft, the offender is liely to be ordered to wear a two-sided board which reads something like, "I Stole a Snickers from a mini-mart". In a case of a lady who purchased weed while her babies were in her car, a judge ordered her to take out an ad in the local paper, stating her crime. Today i began the day tossing and turning in bed, at least 3 times i woke up in the early hours of the day and restlessly tried to calm myself to sleep. I put off writing an essay draft the night before so i could get a good nights sleep and instead i only spent half the night thinking about it.
