“I was highlighting how insane his bail amount was in contrast to other crimes at the time and the bail amounts attached to them.”
BTW Revok skipped paying restitution, “Revok was ordered to pay $3,764.97 in restitution and has so far forked over, and we quote, "$0.00000.", and skipped community service that’s why he got a high bail and was arrested while he was attempting to fly to Ireland! Hahaha homie thought he was a superstar and they would say “hey you are in the museum no problem” but just like other celebrities they are subject to the laws as we are too.

"but public space is fair game, and advertisements are gone over with no problem, billboards get jacked, lightboxes get taken over, and i think those are prime spots, advertisers are doin the same thing that the graff guys and wheat pasters are doing, getting up and showing people something the only differance is that they pay to do it, and that they are trying to sell you crap and get your money."
I or any a member of the public have the right/say in this issue, to not see tagging or graffiti.
Since public places are funded with our dollars literally, I don’t want to see some ugly piece up.
(Some tags/graffs are just ugly and look like crap but others are a true visual piece of art)
Granted some people don’t mind it.
Yeah, the advertisers are getting up but paying for it and trying to sell something but that’s why this country is capitalism. If people are dumb enough or willing to buy stuff, well it’s their money. For example, if people wish to spend hundreds of dollars on a pair of shoes made at a couple of dollars cost in China then it’s OK with me if they are ignorant by choice.
Comment by HELP DESK on June 12, 2011 at 6:19pm I think efren missed my initial point and why I brought up revok at all, I wasnt bitching that he got jailed, anyone knows the risks involved i would hope, I was highlighting how insane his bail amount was in contrast to other crimes at the time and the bail amounts attached to them. revok's bail was insanely high when compared to other crimes (most violent crimes) of the time in LA this is probably because he has blogged about some police brutality cases that the law would have rather left untold, they wanted his head.
there are some guidelines that most graffiti guy follow, and homes, churches and personal property are avoided, I wouldnt put anything on someones home or apartment, or their bike, car etc. but public space is fair game, and advertisements are gone over with no problem, billboards get jacked, lightboxes get taken over, and i think those are prime spots, advertisers are doin the same thing that the graff guys and wheat pasters are doing, getting up and showing people something the only differance is that they pay to do it, and that they are trying to sell you crap and get your money.
Comment by The Man on June 12, 2011 at 3:55pm Yo you got a good point Efren. Technically, graff artists have no right tagging on other people's properties. Whether it's a home or a business venue.
Maybe there's should be a registry where you can find out what businesses agree to have REMOVABLE art posted on their buildings or whatever.
It seems like an interesting debate. I'm not familiar with the graff game, but I'm sure this debate comes up a lot. I wanna see what people think about this.
Comment by EFREN LUNA on June 12, 2011 at 3:33pm You missed my point! The house analogy was just that; an analogy. Let me put it this way, if it doesn't belong to you then you got no business writing on anybody property regardless. I’m not saying that graff is art or not in fact some art in general is questionable and some people are going to like it and others not. So if a graff artist gets fined and jailed, so what? It’s part of what makes it more interesting to these guys. It comes with the being in that game….So any graff artist who bitches about getting fined and jailed should choose some other profession! That’s all am saying!

Comment by EFREN LUNA on June 12, 2011 at 1:11pm I bet Saber and Revok and any of these graff guys would not be OK if anyone would write or scribe on their big screen TVs. (I know some of you might think this example is out of proportion but the point I'm making here is that property is vandalize and if you own a home you don't want that on you front wall cause if you do let me know I can arrange for that). If you believe Graff is real art go see it here:

Comment by JulsnMatt1028 on June 10, 2011 at 9:43am "Revok was released yesterday BTW, 44 days and about 24,000 in debt, bail was set at like $320,000 (more than petophiles, wife beaters and violent assault charges bail amounts at the same time period in LA, go figure, its cheaper to assault, rob and hurt people than to paint.)"That's freakin insane!
Comment by HELP DESK on June 10, 2011 at 5:14am Graff writers are a whole different animal from gangs. gangs hate graff guys. Saber said it best on INFAMY, "the cops dont like us, and the gangs dont like us" or something to that effect but its like being a very unwanted guest. gangs mark their areas as a claim, graff writers put up their name and its all about getting up, not about a gang. they may tag their crew, and to the ignorant that would look like a gang. actually, to most people a bigass burner is intimidating as hell and is assumed to be gang related. people have an image that all graffiti is done by young violent gangs, in reality you would be shocked to see whos doing this work... its the most diverse culture out there, black, white, young, old, handicapped, gay... the list goes on.
Revok was released yesterday BTW, 44 days and about 24,000 in debt, bail was set at like $320,000 (more than petophiles, wife beaters and violent assault charges bail amounts at the same time period in LA, go figure, its cheaper to assault, rob and hurt people than to paint.)
Comment by The Initiative on June 9, 2011 at 11:20am That is a heated topic. Many people even categorize wheat pasting with gang activity. Lets see if I cant clarify this more with commentary from a gang member who hits up for his gang, and a graf artist who hits up for the sake of his art. What you are talking about is tagging, and its called tagging because they want to "tag" or mark their territory.
