Art Show to raise money for after school art programs....anyone interested?

Would anyone be interested in joining with me an event to raise money for after school art programs for kids. I was thinking of doing an art show where artists would donate a piece of art, painting, photography, etc. We could have a silent auction and donate the money to a charity. We could get a band and DJ to play. I did a couple of these up in L.A. with some friends and it went great!!! We had a great turn out and some great sponsors. We actually did a theme for the shows. One was "Beatles" and the other one was "PoP Explosion" What do you think? Anyone have a good venue to have it at?

Hey man, I might be interested in helping out, hit me up. We do a similar event but with fashion and music. I actually tried to incorporate art at the event but we were already swamped, but It would be awesome to do it for 2010. www.LBPP.net

there is a meeting next tuesday nov. 24th @ pollen 1332 Gladys/Anaheim, 7-10pm and then a potluck (the chocolate cake last time was fabulous!!) mixer on monday the 30th at the same location/time where you/everyone can personally connect with people who are interested in this very type of event.

immanuel (3rd and obispo) is one of many available good venues. they just had a similar event called hart beats and harmony http://hartbeatsinharmony.eventbrite.com/ if not used for a venue, the immanuel center is also an art-focused charity with many many under used space(s) to actually house after school art programs in.

kelly curry kelli@livinglovefoundation.org also comes to mind. she is the current co-facilitator of a team creating access to art experiences through mobile workshops and programming.

Absolutely! Let's all do this together. Send me an email, we have several spots we could host this. Do you have a certain date in mind? tanya.quinn@gocatalyst.org
Dramatic Results has been fostering creativity in Long Beach schools since 1992. We have been serving approx. 1500 students a year, but next year we may need to cut way back due to lack of funding. We are currently looking into providing programs at our site, possibly over spring break, summer, and after-school. We just got the approval from the city of Signal Hill. If you are looking for a local 501(c)(3) to donate to, please consider Dramatic Results. I'd love to help coordinate. Thank You. www.dramaticresults.org
Love the idea - happy to collaborate and help! As far as venue goes, when were you thinking of holding the show?
