As you may have heard, in our discussion forum and elsewhere, the World Famous VIP Records on PCH and the launching pad for legendary rappers like Snoop Dogg and Warren G, has announced it's intention to close it's doors for good. One alternative option has been floated to convert the site into a musical museum. Interestingly the doomed record shop has announced today a petition drive to have the location designated as a historical landmark. They appear to need 1,000,000 signatures, or at least that is the stated goal. It's not currently clear if this is part of an official and formal petition process, or a starting point to gather support around the idea, to then be moved forward. I'll work on gathering those facts, but either way, here is the link for you to sign the petition and share with others.

What do you think, should the VIP Records location be preserved as a historical sight? It is a significant piece of music history and of Long Beach history.
