Night one was full of peaceful protesting and reminders from Long Beach police officers of the city ordinance that does not allow one to sleep in a park.
Night two included much more discussion about civil disobedience and four members of Occupy Long Beach chose to practice their first amendment right to peacefully assemble, and two were cited and released immediately, while two were arrested and booked.
Check out the video to hear from two of those detained, prior to being handcuffed.

Permalink Reply by Emily Quest on October 20, 2011 at 8:42am I wish my son Jonah would apply to colleges this month instead of getting arrested. It's so tough on families now. He's only got october to fill out applications

Permalink Reply by Molly Marina Haupt on October 20, 2011 at 2:21pm I too hope Jonah applies to colleges. He is a very bright young man and I'm sure he will head in a positive direction.
Permalink Reply by Sybil Knight on October 22, 2011 at 4:44pm I could hardly believe my eyes as I watched a group of adults (on video) chanting in support of a minor child being arrested. Each and every one of them should have been arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. I could understand their support if he were an adult, but to support such a consequence with regard to a minor is unconscionable and the epitome of irresponsibility. I'm sure right now, it feels like a badge courageously earned, however come time for college interviews he may find that badge severely tarnished.
