Long Beach Playhouse ends it's Studio Season with a bite. This "re-vamped" adaptation of the Dracula legend, by American playwright Steven Dietz and also based on the novel by Bram Stoker, promises suspense, screams, and perhaps some blood. This play, which is notable for its faithfulness to the plot, tone and characters in Stoker's 1897 novel, will be directed by Neno Pervan.
Experience the suspense and seduction of Bram Stoker's classic novel live on stage. Lucy has been infected with an inexplicable illness. Dr. Van Helsing has taken up the case only to discover the illness is in fact caused by a vampire in their midst. As Count Dracula begins to exert his will upon the residents of London, they try to piece together the clues of his appearances - in a valiant attempt to save themselves from a hideous fate.
Opening Night Champagne Reception with the entire cast on Saturday, October 1, 2011. Dracula will continue on Thursday nights (8 p.m.), Friday nights (8 p.m.), Saturday nights (8 p.m.) and Sunday matinees, (2 p.m.) through Saturday, September 10, 2011.
