I love myself a good ebook. Who doesn't? Right!  Let's twist this a bit, how about a FREE ebook? Doubting me? Shaking your head thinking I'm crazy?  Hold onto that Nook, Kindle or ipad! Because this will knock your apps off!

On Saturday, February 11, 2012 the Digital Bookmobile National Tour will be going through Long Beach and this will be your chance to get a free ebook and downloadable audiobook.  You can find the Digital Bookmobile at the Second Saturday Art Walk (on Linden Ave between East Broadway and East First Street) from 4 to 10pm.  You will be able to learn how to download ebooks and audiobooks with demonstrations and instructional videos.  At the event, the Long Beach Public Library Foundation will be providing the chance to receive a Kindle Touch if you bring your Long Beach Public Library card or apply for one at the event.  Readers of all ages are welcome!

If you are unable to experience this ebook event, residents will be able to use the download service by visiting the Library's webpage www.lbpl.org/downloads.  Once there, you will be able to surf through the collection and download with your valid Long Beach Public Library card.  Your selection will be able to be viewed on a computer or supported mobile device.  When the lending period is up, the title you borrowed will expire automatically.  No late fees! If you anything like me, this is a wonderful feature.

So go, enjoy the lovely Second Saturday Art Walk and keep your reading eyes appealed for The Digital Bookmobile which will reside in a 18-wheel tractor-trailer!
