Gov. Schwarzenegger signs bill for L.A.-area stadium construction

Associated Press
INDUSTRY, Calif. -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Thursday he has signed a bill allowing the construction of a 75,000-seat stadium that developers hope will lure an NFL team back to the Los Angeles area.

Schwarzenegger said he signed the environmental exemption bill last week but saved the announcement for a news conference in Industry, where the stadium would be built about 15 miles east of Los Angeles.

The bill nullifies a lawsuit filed by residents in nearby Walnut over the project's environmental impact.

This is what I find most interesting:

"Majestic has targeted seven teams it plans to approach after the Super Bowl in February about move to the Los Angeles area: the Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers."
Geez, we all ready got 3 NFL teams in Cali don't we? It would be nice and everything, but LA all ready has so much.. i think the Governor is wasting money that could be put to FAR better use
The Rams? You are kidding me?! LOL aw hells no!
Chargers: I can't see them leaving their home
Niners: they are getting a new stadium (or got it already?) no?
Raiders: We can do without the fans

LA could use the money that the NFL brings in, it would mean more jobs but it does take a lot of money to keep maintenance on the stadium, security etc

It would be cool to not have to drive out of town to go see your favorite team play.
LA needs to get it's own football team. It's weird that LA doesn't have a team. I mean it's LA
We do need one, but they always seem to leave!
Perhaps is the no stadium issue.
I thought the state was in a huge deficit where many people are loosing their jobs and Arnold wants to waste more money? What the heck is wrong with him? He is not coming back for another term and he is just screwing us up more than we are already by leaving us with a goodbye present.

The better teams on that list will probably just want to stay where they are and why would we want a team that is not good. The Raiders and Rams can stay where they are as they should not be considered. The Chargers are finally coming around and we would be taking them away from San Diego.

Arnold needs to quit wasting money and use it for something more useful, like education and arts!

That's my piece.
