In this hour-long documentary film a young multi-racial Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) woman, filmmaker Christen Hepuakoa Marquez, sets out to discover the meaning of her incredibly lengthy Hawaiian name from her estranged mother whose diagnosis as schizophrenic in the 80′s caused their family separation. Event Description

Stellar Organizational Development, LLC, sponsored by Catalyst Community, Green Long Beach and North American School of Green Technology, will be facilitating a free workshop to Long Beach residents entitled:

What the Heck is a Green Collar Job? Preparing for Green Career Opportunities

On Thursday, November 4, 2010, from 6:30-8:00 pm, learn about the "hot" green industries growing right here in California and across the country! Hundreds of new jobs are being created as a result of President Obama's call for an economy based on renewable energy, energy efficient buildings, schools and homes, increased recycling/reuse systems and processes, high-speed transit systems, alternative fuels and alternative energy vehicles. As well, learn what it takes to prepare for green professions, and the creative methods for finding employment in green industry sectors.

Your facilitator for the evening, Stella Ursua, is President of Stellar Organizational Development, Education Facilitator at Green Long Beach!, and President of the soon-to-open North American School of Green Technology, to be located at Hancock University - 1600 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach, CA. Please RSVP to Stella at stellarorgdevelopment@gmail.com to save a space at this informative green jobs workshop. All Long Beach residents will receive a handy "Green Jobs Guide" upon completion of the workshop.

Stella will be conducting the workshop at various locations in the city during the next 6 months, so if you cannot attend the November 4 session, please email Stella at stellarorgdevelopment@gmail.com to learn about upcoming sessions, or to schedule the workshop for your organization or neighborhood group.

I think is going to be a really cool event. Good information for everyone. We need to get rid of these gas powered cars.

I still haven't watched the documentary, "Who Killed The Electric Car?"
