Featured Artists biography:
GINGEE - (Eagle Rock, CA)
Gingee is a solo performer from Los Angeles. She raps, sings, plays instruments, and makes beats. Her self titled debut draws upon varied influences such as electro, old school techno, hip hop, South and Southeast Asian music, Brazilian baile funk and riot grrrl punk. Bridging different musical worlds, her mission is to inspire others to create and triumph over all forms of oppression.
THE PIECEMAKERS - (Long Beach, CA)
the Piecemakers is a hip hop duo – Antonio “PAZ1” Appling and Nate “KnewBalance/NathanAnthony” Whitsell – which was created around 2005. PAZ1 and KnewBalance met at a poetry open mic circa 2003 and have performed and featured at many of San Diego’s and Long Beach’s poetry open mics both together and individually. The poetic and true-school hip hop influences allow their style to be fresh and unique, while remaining rooted in hip hop’s rich legacy.
The two have been separated by time and space during the past eight years off and on, but have recently seen great fruit come of the labor to continue working together over that time. They have recently released projects titled G.O.O.D. December and The Golden Era Mixtape. The two are currently working on a full-length LP that is scheduled to be released.

The venue serves beer and wine. Please consume responsibly or you will be asked to leave. (We do not endorse alcohol, though PIZZA PI generously donates their space to us as long as guests purchase from their selective menu).
PARKING SUCKS, so be prepared to walk one or two blocks. Or just take the bus, RIDE A BIKE and roll out with Spok-N afterwards.
(Spok-N is the weekly bike ride that meets at Pizza Pi every Thursday at 9:00PM. All are welcome to join.)
