Long Beach Percussion Duo Performing New Works December 6th at 1:00
The Long Beach based IronWorks Percussion Duo will be giving a concert at California State University Long Beach on December 6th at 1:00PM. General admission is $10 and $7 for students. The group will be performing the winners of the 2nd annual IronWorks Composition Contest in addition to other chamber works. The group, comprised of Long Beach State Music Faculty Dr. Dave Gerhart and Axel Clarke, will debut Why Has the Hunter Not Returned by Joel Harrison and Ollin by Tizoc Ceballos along with works by such notable composers as James Tenney, David Lang, and Bill Ryan. Their most recent contest drew entries from Asia, Europe and the Middle East and the two winners were selected by the duo and Andrew Beall of Bachovich Music who will publish the winning pieces.
