The 2nd Annual Cut & Paste, Rock & Roll will be a hands-on, celebratory experience of art and music within the queer community. This year will feature queer bands, gay and lesbian artists, poets, crafters, live art and much more.
"Long Beach is notorious for its gay community, but there's such limited visibility within the queer scene here since Long Beach tends to be very exclusive," Founder Annie Parkhurst says of the inspiration behind the event, "Cut & Paste, Rock & Roll is about opening that up. Queer identifying adults and teens are all over the map now we and we're brining out a new way of identifying, something that welcomes everyone, since you don’t necessarily have to be gay to call yourself a “Queer”."
Cut & Paste, Rock & Roll will feature a full line-up of local musical talent and an assortment of crafters, artists and activities. Each attendee will receive a Queer Survival Kit. Kits include free information about safe sex, merchandise from participating bands and record labels and goods and coupons donated by local LGBT-friendly businesses.
Along with the art and music on display, there will be plenty of opportunities for attendees to create their own masterpieces with materials provided at stations set up around the event. The event is open to all ages.
Entrance is $10 for those 21 and under and $5 for those 21+.
