"Go for the Gold"is this year's theme to celebrate our local USA Olympians! Long Beach's Golden Couple Misty May Treanor (LB State), 3-time Olympic Gold Medalist in Beach Volleyball along with her husband Matt Treanor (Mater Dei HS), LA Dodger, will be our Grand Marshals!
Jessica Hardy (Wilson HS) who completed her first Olympic Games with Gold and Bronze medals (400 medley relay, and 400 freestyle relay, respectively) is one of the many other Olympians who will take the ride down 2nd st. Look for other celebrities and Olympians from the Long Beach area to make their appearance!
The Belmont Shore Christmas Parade will march down East Second Street to the beat of over a dozen local marching bands. Featuring over 100 entries, including floats designed by Long Beach businesses and associations, marching bands, and local personalities and dignitaries. And of course, no Christmas Parade would be complete without an appearance by good ole’ St. Nick!
The parade route is along East Second Street and begins heading east from Livingston Avenue to Bayshore Avenue. Entries return to Livingston Avenue heading west along the north side of East Second Street.
Start time will be at 6:00pm again this year. East 2nd St. will close to traffic at 5:00pm, at which time spectators may set up chairs and blankets for a front row seat to the parade.
Parade entries: BSBA members and non-profit organizations $400. Bands and other entries $500. Click to sign-up: Parade Application
Floats will be judges based on Execution of Theme, Orginality of Design and Spectator Appeal. "Go for the Gold" can be interpreted and expressed in different ways! Please use your imagination!
