Long Beach artist Timothy Bulone’s work will hang at the El Dorado Nature Center here beginning Saturday, July 6. ....... all in the name of BREASTFEEDING!

Please come and join us for the 2nd Annual Breastfeeding Open Mic, celebrating World Breastfeeding Week and Month 2012!

IT'S BACK!!! The 2nd Annual Breastfeeding Open Mic will be on Saturday July 28th, 2012 7:30pm-9:30pm. Sign-ups to perform start at 7:00pm. We'll be at the same place - Viento y Agua 4007 E. 4th St. Long Beach, CA 90814. Event sponsor is BreastfeedLA - the Breastfeeding Task Force of Greater Los Angeles.

August is World Breastfeeding Awareness month, and the first week of the month is World Breastfeeding Week. Please join us as we kick off the month with more breastfeeding stories, poems, songs, journal entries, and just straight up testimony on the mic!

The theme is "Full Circle" – reflecting on your breastfeeding journey – whatever length – and also if and how it has changed you. Please no curse words, or judgmental/ugly words ro themes.

Share your poem, song, or more on the mic - max 3 minutes! I guarantee you will feel supported !!

This event is open to everyone in the breastfeeding community – nursing mothers, partners, babies and kids (family friendly event!), health professionals, birth workers, families, and more! If you support breastfeeding on whatever level, you are part of the greater breastfeeding community and we welcome and encourage your participation.
 

Our stories are individual, complex, intimate... and together they are singularly important, powerful and what bind us together as a breastfeeding community.
